Attaching or sewing bias tape to the hem of a dress.

Hello friends, ok so some of us have had a difficult time sewing the bias to the hem of a dress or any part of a garment. I am going to give you the steps that work for me with not much difficulty or money spending.
Ok so I wanted to buy the presser foot to do this but I don't always have a need for this presser foot so decided to get creative and invented a cardboard casing to attach to the sewing machine table in the direction of the presser foot.
All you need is masking tape and a piece of soft card board such as the box packaging of the Philadelphia cream cheese, or you can also use card board used for school projects.
The piece should measure  about 1.5 to 3 inches long and the width should be according to the width of the bias tape you will be using.
All you need to do is fold it so that it looks like a box just the size  of the bias and here is what it should look like. The picture above shows you the main idea. The bias I am using is 1/4 once is folded so the case or box should be about 6/8 of an inch. it should not allow too much space for the bias to move to the sides of the box it should only allow enough space for it to feed the bias . This should also be good for attaching elastic.
Once you made your casing make sure to tape it with masking tape to the table in direction of the presser foot. Before I forget always feed the bias tape first before taping it to the table like this.
Once you have it into place you can then add the garment or the part of the hem line to the bias.
When you begin to attach or sew the bias to the piece you need, make sure that you are adjusting it so that it sews on both top and under edges of the bias.  Make sure to practice to make it perfect. If you try this without the cardboard casing the fabric moves too much and makes it so difficult.
I only practiced on one piece of material once and turned out perfect so hope it works the same for you.
